Unknown Year - Void Age

In a reality far beyond the scope of mortal conception, an entity of great power committed crimes of insanity against its peers. This being, who would come to be known as the Father-God Yogoroth, was banished from his own plane of existence, a place where absolute order was the rule of law. Although he was sentenced to death, some sympathetic force from his home dimension took pity on the unfathomable madness which drove Yogoroth to sin against his own kind.

In an effort to save Yogoroth, he was secreted away to Exos, "the plane of the exiled,"where he could continue to exist in isolation. To guarantee both his safety and his imprisonment, that force which exiled Yogoroth to Exos also prevented his return by permanently severing Exos’ connection to the multiverse.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

After countless centuries, Yogoroth sank deeper into a greater state of depression as he was increasingly tormented by his lonely isolation within the confines of Exos. Eventually Yogoroth's bleak prospects enraged his senses and in a fit of reckless abandon, he violently tore himself asunder in an effort to end his life. As a result of his suicidal rage, the divine essence stored within one of Yogoroth's dismembered limbs reshaped itself, taking on the form of a beautiful woman. From what was once the right arm of Yogoroth came the Mother-Goddess Nessra.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

Like moths drawn to the flame, Nessra and Yogoroth journeyed through the void of the cosmos until one day they came upon an explosive aurora. At the center of Exos the pair encountered a churning storm of primordial fury caused by the incessant warfare waged between the Basalus Colossum. These Elemental Lords of flame, air, water and earth were caught in an endless cycle of chaos, but one of their number, Anu, a force of balance, struggled in vain to maintain a peace between the elements.

Recognizing the creative potential of the Basalus Colossum, Nessra made a pact with Anu, offering to overpower the Basalus Colossum into submission in exchange for the right to use their abilities to usher forth creation. Anu, who had long struggled against the Elemental Lord's turbulent nature, agreed in desperation. With the deal struck, Nessra released her husband like one slipping a warhound from its leash. Aided by the power derived from his madness, Yogoroth, quickly defeated the disjointed efforts of the Basalus Colossum who sought to resist his strength.

With the help of Nessra, Anu established what is known as the Elemental Calm, a peace between the Basalus Colossum which could, and would only be maintained by the strength of Yogoroth.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

After their brief conflict with the Basalus Colossum, Nessra set herself to task in an endeavor to fill the void of the cosmos with worlds for her to eventually seed with life. Using the Basalus Colossum, Nessra spent millennia shaping the spherical worlds of Exos and the many illuminating stars which would one day give light to her children.

Eventually, Nessra came to desire a home for both she and her husband Yogoroth. Once more, Nessra returned to the center of Exos where once upon a time the Basalus Colossum waged war with one another. It was here that she created the world of Haven, hoping it would one day be the home to her divine children. It was on Haven that she placed the Wellspring of Life, a natural fount whose waters were suffused with arcane magic.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

It was Nessra's maternal instinct which pressed her need to produce offspring similar to both she and Yogoroth. Despite her yearning, she knew that Yogoroth's madness was capable of anything, even dark deeds such as slaughtering their own children. To cure her husband of his insanity, Nessra bid Yogoroth to spill his blood into the waters of the Wellspring. Rather than obediently following her command, her order drove the Father-God to violent protest.

Before Yogoroth could overwhelm Nessra with his superior strength, she delivered a decisive blow to his forehead. From the gaping wound which Nessra had inflicted, Yogoroth not only bled into the Wellspring, but he began to shed the many personalities that plagued his psyche. With the release of those personas that haunted him, the Mad-God Yogoroth was made sane.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

From those many personalities which had been transferred into the circling depths of the Wellspring, Nessra used the Blood of Yogoroth to give birth to her childrenFrom the waters of the Wellspring of Life arose the divine beings known as the Blood Gods.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

For the millennia that followed their birth, the Blood Gods lived in harmony with one another, spreading all types of life across the planets of the cosmos.

UNKNOWN YEAR - VOID AGE

When the Blood Gods were content with their creations amid the countless planets of the cosmos, they returned to their seat of power on Haven. Like their mother, the Blood Gods assembled before the Wellspring of Life in order to populate their own world with those races and creatures that would serve them.

Together, the Blood Pantheon created the natural places of Haven and the wild beasts that dwelt within them. The second of their creations on Haven, was that of the the first mortals, humanity, whose design was meant to act as the template for all the other races to come. Lastly, the Blood Gods gave birth to their favored children, the mighty sphinxes, to act as the custodians of Haven in an effort to maintain not only the balance between good and evil, but the struggle between civilization and nature.
